Friends of Kelso Library

Support your Local Library

Friends of Kelso Library support the library, provide funding and offer a syllabus of events covering a wide range of subjects including poetry, history and local characters.

Enthusiastic Library Users

Friends of Kelso Library was formed in 2005 by a group of enthusiastic library users to support the library. Since then they have provided funding for Saturday newspapers, children’s activities and the purchase of local books.

Amongst their many activities they host author visits, including Sally Magnusson, Christopher Ward, Mark Douglas-Home and Alistair Moffat.

The popular summer time tea and readings in the garden and the Christmas Tea and poetry sessions provide fun, friendship and also help to raise funds for the group. A syllabus of talks and events offers a wide range of subjects including poetry, history and local characters.

Linked to Friends of Kelso Library, Kelso Library Readers Group meet regularly to discuss books, poetry and the world in general!
